With that out of the way, I’ve played a bit of Project Playtime, the new asymmetric multiplayer game from the creators of Poppy Playtime, and I actually had a lot of fun!

I think Project Playtime could eventually be really solid! However, that day has not yet come, and at the present moment I cannot in good conscience recommend that anyone spend money within Project: Playtime. It’s Mob Game’s first attempt at a freemium, games-as-a-service product, and it’s still only in its infancy. The premium items that are available now justify neither their cost nor the risk one undertakes by investing in a young, unproven game like this.

Give it a month. See if you’re still playing it. See if your friends are still playing it. See if _anyone_ is still playing it! There’s really nothing SO SPECIAL that you’re going to miss out on by holding off on the battle pass (or the Toy Chest or whatever they heck they called it).
